Steve Robinson

Rev. Stephen A. Robinson is the co-founder and senior pastor of CrossPoint Church located in Newport, RI. CrossPoint church is a multi-cultural, inter-denominational church that touches the lives of people from around the world. CrossPoint has members from various racial and cultural background including, white, black, Asian, Spanish speaking, the Islands, and many others.

Pastor Robinson has a degree in engineering and spent 20 years in the corporate sector as an engineer and Contracts Administrator before leaving for full-time ministry. He is a gifted teacher and leader whose vision is to tear down the walls that have separated and divided the church especially in the areas of race and cultural.

Pastor Robinson has received many awards for his work in the community as he continues to provide leadership and counsels many young pastors. He has recently completed a course in Pastoral Leadership to help CrossPoint Church reach its goal of having a regional impact that will help shape the destiny of the church and its leaders. His corporate training and apostolic calling makes Pastor Robinson a much sought out speaker.

Pastor Steve was raised in the Church of God in Christ and is a 3rd generation pastor within that denomination. In 1994 Pastor Steve was ordained and served as the Youth Pastor for seven years and then as an Associated Pastor for another 5 years at Keys Memorial Church of God in Christ before he and his wife planted a new non-denominational church in Newport, RI in September of 1999. The name of that church was New Beginnings Praise & Worship Center.

He is also one of the founders of ONE Prayer and the New England PrayerFest whose purpose is to unite the Body of Christ in times of prayer to help foster revival and bring reformation to the Northest region of the United States. His radio program and broadcast called Extraordinary Encounters is heard on 5 radio stations around the country.

On June 10, 2008, New Beginnings purchased their first building at 14 Rhode Island in Newport, RI and changed its name to CrossPoint Church. CrossPoint has seen its membership grow from under 100 people to over 500 people in 5 years with a weekly attendance of about 400 people.

Pastor Robinson has been married to his wife Mary for over 30 years. She has been by his side and is one of the co-founders and Associate Pastors of CrossPoint Church. They have two children, a married daughter and a son and two granddaughtes.
