Who Gets Your Yes?
What happens when following Jesus actually costs you something?
It’s easy to say what matters most when nothing is competing for our attention, comfort, security, or approval. But eventually there are moments when two voices are asking for different answers—and we have to decide which one gets our yes.
In Acts 5, the apostles are threatened, beaten, and ordered to stop speaking about Jesus. Peter’s response is simple: “We must obey God rather than men.”
But their courage wasn’t about being tougher or stronger. They had seen Jesus pass through rejection, shame, suffering, and even death—and come out the other side. And that changed what those things could hold over them.
This Sunday, we’re talking about obedience, compromise, and what it means to trust the risen Jesus with whatever obedience may cost us.
