When the Old World Comes Back
Pastor Michael Perez
What happens when the church doesn’t look like the people Jesus has made us to be?
Acts 6 gives us a surprisingly honest picture of the early church. This was a Spirit-filled, rapidly growing community—and yet old divisions still found their way back in. People were overlooked. Needs were missed. And the church had to decide what to do when the way they were living no longer matched what God had made true among them.
Maybe that’s part of what makes this story so important for us.
Following Jesus doesn’t mean our old instincts never resurface. It means they don’t get the final word anymore.
This Sunday at CrossPoint, we’re continuing through Acts and asking what it looks like to become, in practice, the people Christ has already made us to be.
