Where We Begin: Believing in God

Jan 11, 2026    Pastor Michael Perez

This Sunday, we’re starting a brand-new teaching series on The Apostles’ Creed—one of the oldest confessions of the Christian faith.

Some of us grew up reciting it.

Some of us have never heard it.

And some of us aren’t sure what to do with ancient words in a modern world.

This week, we begin with the first line:

“I believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.”

What does it mean to trust God as Father when our experiences with fathers are complicated?

What does it mean to call God Almighty when life feels fragile and suffering unresolved?

And what does it mean to believe we are created—not accidental, not self-made, but deeply known and loved?

This message sets the foundation for the whole series—and for how we understand who God is, who we are, and where our story is headed.

Come early. Bring someone. And let’s begin the story together.
